Welcome to OKE! As you’ll discover in the next fex days, this platform is a good tool to discuss new topics and to exchange in a very simple way. Regularly, you’ll find new topics to discuss and the first one we suggest you to join is Archives And Climate Change. Our societies, since a few years now (if not decades), is facing this new challenge and have to find solutions to adapt our way of life and our being in order to protect our planet. Everybody is concerned, archivists as well… But we know also that Climate Change has other implications on our profession: on the way we manage archives, on how we will be able to appraise records documenting this global movement, on our professional norms and standards (buildings, paperless administration), apparition of new threats.
We need you to participate and to give us your feelings, to share with us your experiences and perhaps your fears also on Archives facing Climate Change. The Section for Archives of Literature and Art (SLA) has played an important role in ICA in the past, and was relaunched in 2009.
The purpose of the Section is to communicate the cultural value and the magic of literary and artistic archives, and to create a worldwide network of archivists and users.
The Section will share information about the locations and the diverse nature of literary and artistic collections around the world, and will share best practice about cataloguing, storing, exhibiting and promoting these cultural archival treasures.

OKE is a new space to share information and to discuss about professionnal issues. The aim of this platform is to bring together profesionals in the archival field.
ICA decided to offer you a new rendez-vous on its website : “Spotlight on…”. What does it consist in ?
OKE by ica is a platform that will allow our contributors to discuss some texts, and to post some information or resources related to a topic. We will propose you a new topic to discuss on a regular basis.
The debates and exchanges will be moderated, managed and synthetized by a volunteer : our chief editor.
OKE is also a new way for the ICA’s professional sections to communicate about their main interests. Each section can start a topic to interact with their members.
There is no basic language here, english is a good way to cooperate, but feel also free to add your comments and contributions in your own language.
There is no obligation to get involved. No obligation to follow our exchanges after the publication of a topic. But this space is yours, feel free to join!
